Citizen of the Year 2025

We are excited to announce the 2025 Spring Lake Citizen of the Year: Sister Carole MacKenthum. Sister Carole is a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, and was born in Hamilton Township.
Sister Carole has been a Sister of Mercy for 60 years, and a teacher for 55 years, including 28 years as a teacher and Spirituality Coordinator at St. Catharine School.
She is the author of more than twenty religious education and language arts books for children and teachers. One of her last published books, Following the Light, contains reflections on the stained glass windows at the St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake.
